Career Paths Inside & Outside Academia

About the event

This meeting explores different career paths inside and outside academia for researchers in NLP and related fields. We will hear two perspectives:

• Prof. Albert Gatt (Utrecht University) will share insights on the academic career path and what to expect in its later stages.
• Dr. Saeed Arbabi (Head of Engineering at Presurgeo, former postdoc at UMC Utrecht) will share his perspective on building a career at the intersection of applied medical research and industry, reflecting on his move from UMCU to leading engineering at a medical device startup.

After the talks, we will connect and network over pizza.
